New York, NY – December 2, 2010 –Billboard announced today that Julie Greenwald, Chairman and COO of Atlantic Records, tops its annual Women in Music Power Players list, while Fergie was named “Woman of the Year,” Jazmine Sullivan was dubbed the Billboard “Rising Star,” and Lea Michele received the first-ever Billboard Triple Threat Award. The list of the top female music industry executives is revealed in the Billboard Women In Music issue, which hits newsstands tomorrow, and the honorees were feted today at the 5th annual Billboard Women in Music Event, presented by Steve Madden andL'Oréal Professionnel, at The Pierre in New York City. Fergie, Jazmine Sullivan and Lea Michele were all on hand to accept their awards.

NEW YORK (December 2, 2010) —Billboard announced today that it is expanding its suite of chart offerings to include a new chart, theSocial 50, presented by ZYNC from American Express, which ranks the most active artists on the world’s leading social networking sites. Rihanna becomes the ‘only girl in the world’ to top the Social 50 chart in its debut week, followed by Justin Bieber, Eminem, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, respectively, to round out the top five.  The full chart is available at Billboard.com.

FERGIE NAMED BILLBOARD’S 2010 WOMAN OF THE YEAR

Award To Be Accepted At The Fifth Annual
Billboard Women In Music Event In New York City
 

NEW YORK, October 27, 2010—Billboard announced today that six-time Grammy® Award-winning artist and pop culture icon Fergie will accept its coveted Woman Of The Year Award at the 2010 Billboard Women in Music event, sponsored by Steve Madden, taking place on December 2nd in New York City.  This award is given to a trailblazing female recording artist who has inspired the music business with her success, leadership and new ideas.  The honor also acknowledges the achievements of the artist over the past 12 months.
